The question Photographers get asked the most for family shoots is: “What should we wear?!”
Choosing one outfit can be overwhelming but planning for the whole family is even more difficult.
I hope I can help you by giving you a few tips.
For family photo sessions, I recommend choosing outfits that coordinate, but don’t match. To best accomplish this, treat everyone’s clothing as if it were all one outfit. You can start with your own outfit first, then select the rest of the clothing to compliment that piece. Stick with 2 or 3 colors and lay everything out on the bed and make sure that nothing stands out too much. Texture, layers and knits are especially great here. Now add some beautiful accessories but make sure they are not too big or bright.
Feel free to send me photos of outfits you are considering when planning your upcoming session- I would love to do anything I can to help make your photos look great!
